Alabama’s Tourism Year of Food Campaign

Alabama became a top tourist destination in the United States following the national PR program I created for the Year of Alabama Food.

The campaign won the U.S. Travel Association’s Mercury Award for best special promotion.

Media coverage highlights: CBS “This Morning Saturday,” The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and a seven-part series in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where the travel reporter toured the state and sampled each of the “100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama Before You Die.”

Alabama tourism is now a multi-billion dollar industry that attracts millions of travelers annually.
