New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia freaked out at Newark Liberty International Airport after he, and 11 others who were traveling with him, missed an early Saturday morning flight to Jamaica, according to TMZ.
Port Authority police had to calm Sabathia down after “CC started freaking out” when he was told they were too late to board the plane.
A Port Authority spokesman told NJ.com that the group wanted to fly first class on a 7:00 a.m. United Airlines flight to Montego Bay, Jamaica. But they arrived at the airport at 6:45 a.m.
The airline decided it didn’t have enough time to get everyone on board.
Sabathia was able to book another flight, so everyone arrived in Jamaica.
There were no arrests or citations.
Hopefully, Sabathia is taking advantage of the vacation to eliminate all the stress in his life.
Sabathia is the 13th highest paid player in Major League Baseball, according to Spotrac.
He makes a highly stressful $23 million a year.
Sabathia, 34, was plagued by a knee injury this year. He made just eight starts. But he’s expected to be a key part of the Yankees’ starting rotation in 2015.
