Adam Scott’s caddie, Steve Williams — who spent many years caddying for World No. 1 Tiger Woods — still hasn’t settled his differences with Woods following their messy breakup in 2011.
“I haven’t sorted anything out with him,” Williams said on FOX Sports’ “The Golf Show” in Australia via The New Zealand Herald. “There’s been a lot of this, that, and the other. But the hatchet hasn’t been buried.”
Woods sacked Williams after 12 years on the bag. That’s after Woods won 13 major golf tournaments with Williams as caddy. Then Woods’ sex scandal blew up in 2009 and his game fell apart.
“Realistically, I could look back and say I’ve wasted the last two years of my life because he’s played infrequently, he’s been injured and he’s played poorly,” Williams said back in 2011. “I was prepared to hang in there through thick and thin, so I find the timing extraordinary.”
Three years later, Williams said hard feelings still linger.
“It’s just personal things and a difference of opinions on how things went down, Williams said. “I need to sort that out with him.”
Williams will caddy for Scott, the No. 2 ranked golfer, at the Masters next month in Augusta. Scott is the defending champion.
